
HAMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY is hosting an Annual Meeting Brunch on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Hampton Grace Methodist Church. The general meeting agenda items will include, among other items, the nomination and election of officers and board members.
ON THE MENU
The delicious brunch buffet will include breakfast casseroles, fruit, rolls, and coffee. Those who attend the annual brunch meeting always enjoy visiting with others over a tasty mid-morning meal. A program will follow.
GUEST SPEAKER
Neil Dahlstrom will speak about how the tractor revolutionized farming in the early 1900s. His book, Tractor Wars, covers the most iconic farm machine in American agriculture. He will recount the history of tractors from the efforts of scores of early inventors to the development of major manufacturing companies still operating or remembered today. Neil Dahlstrom is the Heritage Marketing and Archives Manager for John Deere. He will have books available to sell and sign. He can also answer questions about the company’s heritage sites, including the John Deere Pavilion and the John Deere historical site at Grand Detour.
